Karnak Phase by Phase: View from the Northwest
The Digital Karnak 3D reconstruction model visualizes the reign-by-reign development of Karnak temple from the Middle Kingdom to the Greco-Roman Period, highlighting the many phases no longer visible at Karnak today.
Full description
Karnak's architectural history is traced in this video, from its earliest form as a simple limestone structure with a mud-brick enclosure wall, through a series of augmentations by later Egyptian kings. Over more than 1000 years, new pylons, gateways, and ritual structures are added, until the temple takes the monumental form familiar to us today.
